When will Makers Nest launch?

We're targeting launch in early 2026. Founding Makers on the waitlist will get early access to set up their shops before we open to buyers. You'll be first to know when we're ready.

Is there any cost to join the waitlist?

No, joining the waitlist is completely free. You won't pay anything until you actually make a sale on the platform. And as a Founding Maker, you'll never pay a monthly subscription fee.

What's the difference between Founding and Early Maker?

Founding Makers (first 100 — sold out) get $0/month forever on Basic features, plus 1 year of FREE Pro features (unlimited listings, custom URL, featured placement, etc.). After year 1, they keep $0/month with Basic features, or can add Pro for $15/month.

Early Makers (next 200) get the same deal with 6 months of FREE Pro features instead of 1 year. Both tiers get $0 porch pickup (no commission!) and only 5% on shipped orders. After Early Maker spots fill, new sellers start at Basic ($10/month, 9% shipped) or Pro ($15/month, 7% shipped).

What is video verification?

To keep dropshippers out, every maker submits a simple 60-second video showing their workspace and demonstrating their craft. It can be shot on your phone — we just need to see you're a real maker. A real human reviews every submission.

How does porch pickup work?

You set available pickup windows (e.g., "Saturdays 2-6pm"). When a buyer orders with porch pickup, they schedule a time, pick up from your designated spot (porch, garage, etc.), and scan a QR code to confirm receipt. You skip shipping entirely — and pay $0 commission on all tiers!

Can I still ship orders?

Absolutely. Porch pickup is optional. You can offer shipping only, pickup only, or both — it's up to you. Shipped orders have commission based on your tier: 5% for Founding/Early Makers, 9% for Basic, 7% for Pro.

What if I'm outside Canada?

Makers Nest is currently focused on Canadian makers only. We're starting local to build density and trust. International expansion may come later, but for now, you need to be based in Canada to join.

What payment methods do you accept?

We use Square for payment processing. Buyers can pay with all major credit cards, debit cards, and Apple Pay. Payment processing is 2.9% + $0.50 per transaction (industry standard, all tiers).
